My struggle with depression was long and difficult. It’s still there in the background but modern medicine has allowed me to get it pretty much under control.

I married my beautiful wife Lynne in 2008 and her love and support have made my Loonyverse a much happier place.

At first there were very few poems with happy endings, but later ones are far more upbeat and encouraging.

As the number of poems grew, the characters started to weave themselves together. Silv’rilocks has a cameo in Big Maroon Wheelchairing Hood, as does Nurse Matterhorn. Buzz the buzzard makes a re-appearance in a new Prince Charming epic costarring Rapunzel. Peter the Peacock is full of references to other poems. Syd Swan’s next story features Fosling the gosling and her aunt and uncle as well as Bobbie O Duck. By coincidence, it seems that the judge involved in Syd Swan’s story is the same one that upset Bobbie O. Both want revenge!

When a frog shows up, it’s one from an old poem, when I need a villain it may be one you’ve met before. The characters are starting to take over and take me places I didn’t anticipate.

It seems like I’m not in control of the Loonyverse after all. I’m happy with that. And that’s a good place to be.
