Father’s, son’s unholy spirits
Clawing, gnawing at their souls
Each other’s and their own – not knowing
Acid’s teeth gouge gruesome holes

There’s a crack in the pot
Where the love leaks out
Though I yearn to be filled
All I’m filled with is doubt
Though I’m watered each day
Still I live in a drought

The cross, Jesus’ cross, is as ugly as sin
As brutal as hatred’s most devilish grin
As savage as any blow darkness can swing
The worst of the worst – it’s a hell of a thing!

“How long, O Lord?” the psalmist sighs
“How long, O Lord?” my soul replies
My heart is overwhelmed, but where
Is God who says He’s always there?

A smart home to live in, a bragging address
A view of the bay that is sure to impress
A big-name designer to do the décor
How much is enough? Just a little bit more!

A car packed with features, the most modern shape
So cool that the Joneses with envy will gape
A jet-ski, a boat and a new 4 x 4
